A note about the archive quality: The Dr. Fangus Video Clinic was originally produced on 3/4 U-Matic tape. The archive was assembled on VHS tapes, unfortunately not even Hi-Fi. So the quality "is what it is." Considering it sat on a shelf for 38 years, we are fortunate to have it in its current condition. In addition, we began production by recording the program in "real time". That is, we produced the program with a full crew and shot without stopping, inserting the video clips as they occurred in the program sequence, with the director attempting to guess when we would turn to Dr. Fangus for commentary. Obviously those guesses were often misjudged. We decided to change that process somewhere around Episode 27. From that show forward, we recorded the host clips in pieces and assembled the whole show in post production. This strategy resulted in a far more polished presentation.
